1. What ChemLab is
ChemLab (chemlab.study) is an online study tool for A-level chemistry: revision notes, interactive simulations, practical walkthroughs and quizzes. By creating an account or using the site you agree to these terms. If you are below the age of digital consent in your country, ask a parent or guardian to agree to them for you.
2. Lab safety — read this one
The practical walkthroughs describe experiments from the official A-level specifications for use in a school or college laboratory, under the supervision of a qualified teacher or technician, following your school's risk assessments and CLEAPSS guidance. Never attempt these experiments at home or unsupervised. ChemLab is a revision aid, not a substitute for professional supervision, and we accept no responsibility for experiments carried out against this instruction.
3. Accounts
Keep your password private; you are responsible for activity on your account. We may suspend accounts that abuse the service (see section 6). You can delete your account at any time from the Account page — deletion is immediate and permanent.
4. Premium subscriptions
- Premium costs £4.99/month or £29/year, billed by Stripe. Prices include applicable VAT where charged.
- Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. Cancel any time; you keep Premium until the end of the period you've paid for.
- Refunds: if you're within 14 days of your first Premium purchase and unhappy for any reason, email us and we'll refund it in full. This does not affect your statutory rights under EU/UK consumer law.
- We may change prices with at least 30 days' notice; changes apply from your next renewal.
5. Free tier
The notes, simulations, periodic table and quiz preview are free. We may adjust what sits in the free tier over time.
6. Acceptable use
Don't: share one account between many people, attempt to bypass the paywall or interfere with the service, scrape the site for republication, or use it for anything unlawful. Personal study use, including in classrooms, is what it's for and is welcome.
7. Content and accuracy
Content is checked against accredited sources (exam-board specifications, the Royal Society of Chemistry, CLEAPSS, NIST, IUPAC), but we don't guarantee it is error-free, and studying with ChemLab does not guarantee any exam result. Always treat your exam board's official specification as the final authority.
8. Intellectual property
The site, its software, design, text, simulations, diagrams and all other content are © 2026 ChemLab and protected by copyright and database rights. All rights reserved. You may not copy, scrape, republish or redistribute any part of the service except as allowed by law (e.g. fair dealing for private study). Your study data belongs to you — export or delete it any time (see the privacy policy).
9. Liability
To the extent the law allows, our liability is limited to the amount you've paid us in the 12 months before a claim. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded.
10. Changes and termination
We may update these terms; material changes will be dated here and, for subscribers, notified before they take effect. We may discontinue the service with reasonable notice, refunding any remaining paid period pro-rata.
11. Law and contact
These terms are governed by the law of your country of habitual residence to the extent its consumer protections apply to you, and otherwise by Romanian law. Contact: cristianmateiionescu@gmail.com.
